Uberrimae fidei

Uberrimae fideiUtmost good faith, referring to the basic principle of insurance, requiring the assured and his broker to disclose and truly represent every material circumstance to the underwriter before acceptance of the risk. A breach of "utmost good faith" entitles the underwriter to avoid the contract.
