Supreme

SupremeThat which is superior to all other things; as the supreme power of the state, which is an authority over all others. The supreme court, which is superior to all other courts.

One who has a right to command; one who holds a superior rank; as, a soldier is bound to obey his superior. 2. If we inquire into its origin, it will be found to come from the Latin status, which is derived from the verb stare, sto, whence has been made statio, which signifies the place where a person is located, stat, to fulfil the obligations which are imposed upon him.

Government. The right and power which an officer has in the exercise of a public function to compel obedience to his lawful commands.
Court
A body in government to which the administration of justice is delegated.
