Pump-and-dump
Pump-and-dumpManipulating stock prices by artificially creating demand through rumor, high pressure sales tactics, or multiple large orders. The price is "pumped" upwards and then when other investors join the trend, the original investors "dump" the stock in a rapid sell-off.
