Pacification

PacificationThe act of making peace between two countries which have been at war; the restoration of public tranquillity.

Peace
The tranquillity enjoyed by a political society, internally, by the good order which reigns among its members, and externally, by the good understanding it has with all other nations. Applied to the internal regulations of a nation, peace imports, in a technical sense, not merely a state of repose and security, as opposed to one of violence and warfare, but likewise a state of public order and decorum.

An agreement by which a creditor of a sum difficult to recover, promises a portion, for example, one-third, to the person who will undertake to recover it. In general, attorneys will abstain from, making such a contract, yet it is not unlawful.
Padding expense accounts
Adding extra expense items or inflating the value of legitimate expense items to obtain unwarranted reimbursements.
