Mesne processAny process issued between original and final process; that is, between the original writ and the execution. RELATED TERMS-------------------------------------- Process 1) Practice. So denominated because it proceeds or issues forth in order to bring the defendant into court, to answer the charge preferred against him, and signifies the writ or judicial means by which he is brought to answer. 2) Rights. The means or method of accomplishing a thing. Original Contracts, practice, evidence. An authentic instrument of something, and which is to serve as a model or example to be copied or imitated. It also means first, or not deriving any authority from any other source as, original jurisdiction, original writ, original bill, and the like . Final That which puts an end to anything.
