Lawyer

A person licensed to practice law; other words for "lawyer" include: attorney, counsel, solicitor and barrister.

Person
This word is applied to men, women and children, who are called natural persons.

Practice
The form, manner and order of conducting and carrying on suits or prosecutions in the courts through their various stages, according, to the principles of law, and the rules laid down by the respective courts.

A person whose business is to be employed in the care and management of suits depending in courts of chancery.

Barrister
English law. A counsellor admitted to plead at the bar.
