KinA blood or marriage relative; as in "next of kin" refers to the closest relative.

Blood
Kindred. 1) This word, in the law sense, is used to signify relationship, stock, or family; as, of the blood of the ancestor. 2) Brothers and sisters are said to be of the whole blood, if they have the same father and mother of the half blood, if they have only one parent in common.
Marriage
A contract made in due form of law, by which a free man and a free woman reciprocally engage to live with each other during their joint lives, in the union which ought io exist between husband and wife. By the terms freeman and freewoman in this definition are meant, not only that they are free and not slaves, but also that they are clear of all bars to a lawful marriage.

One connected with another by blood or affinity; a relation, a kinsman or kinswoman. In an adjective sense, having relation or connexion with some other person or thing; as relative rights, relative powers.

During the reign of a queen, it is called the Queen's Bench, and during the protectorate of Cromwell, it was called the Upper Bench. It consists of a chief justices and three other judges, who are, by their office, the principal coroners and conservators of the peace.
