Fossa

English law. A ditch full of water, where formerly women who had committed a felony were drowned; the grave.

Law

Forum conveniens
Appropriate/convenient court, referring to the principle whereby a court which would not normally have jurisdiction over a claim nevertheless accepts jurisdiction, because there is no other appropriate jurisdiction to hear the claim, in order to ensure that justice is done.
