Cranage
CranageA toll paid for drawing merchandise out of vessels to the wharf, so called, because the instrument used for the purpose is called a crane. A sum of money for the use of something, generally applied to the consideration which is paid for the use of a road, bridge, or the like, of a public nature. Wharf A space of ground artificially prepared for the reception of merchan-dise from a ship or vessel, so as to promote the convenient loading and discharge of such vessel. Instrument Contracts.
