Assythment

AssythmentScotch law. An indemnification which a criminal is bound to make to the party injured or his executors, though the crime itself should be extinguished by pardon.

For persons with no nationality, the country of nationality is considered to be the country in which the alien last habitually resided.

At issue
The time in a lawsuit when the complaining party has stated their claim and the other side has responded with a denial and the matter is ready to be tried.
At law
This phrase is used to point out that a thing is to be doneaccording to the course of the common law. In many cases when there is no remedy at law, one will be affordedin equity.
At will
An employment situation where the employee is not protected from arbitrary firing -- the employee works only at the pleasure of management and may be terminated at any time for no reason. Contrast "For cause."
